ROUND 2: THE BATTLE AGAINST THE DEVELOPERS HAS STARTED. UPDATES TO FOLLOW.
The Developers have launched their Appeal with the Inspectorate against TRDCs decision to reject their warehouse proposal in Maple Cross In November of this year.
Opposition to the warehouse included a Facebook page: Save Maple Cross from Warehouse Hell which has 359 Members. The page highlights not only the unsuitability of developing the site but provides a whole raft of the probable negative impacts. Not only would the residents be subjected to huge volumes of traffic on a 24/7 basis but noise, pollution, congestion are just some of the issues that would arise. Maple Lodge Nature Reserve would undoubtedly lose all its wetland habitats and the associated species that they treasure.
This planning application, that has been studied in finite detail, has been an eye opener in terms of the extreme lengths that developers will go to gain planning permission.
Round two of the fight commences in the new year, but now the campaigners have the full support of the growing Maple Cross and West Hyde Residents Association.
