Urgent : are you or someone you know a primary carer for someone at high risk from Coronavirus?
If so, you are entitled to vaccination as per NHS policy. Unfortunately some GP Surgeries have interpreted this mean 'only people claiming benefits'.
This is false. NHS Policy on vaccination is very simple: "It's being given to:
people aged 55 and over
people at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)
people who live or work in care homes
health and social care workers
people with a condition that puts them at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
people with a learning disability
people who are a main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirus"
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/ So if you qualify, or know someone who does: let them know to contact their GP Surgeries urgently to register as a carer (*nothing to do with benefits*) and receive a vaccination appointment. If you have any problems ask to speak to the practice manager and refer them to the link above: save lives: get vaccinated.
